Nanny’s Breastfeeding Corner!One of the biggest sorrows of my life is that I didn’t breastfeed my daughter. I wanted to, I planned to—but no-one, no-one backed me up or gave me any support. I finally gave in and gave up. This was in 1967 in Wisconsin. I’ve regretted it most of my life since then. One of the biggest joys of my life is that my daughter breastfed my granddaughter until she was 18 months old. I’ll never forgot the day she sat there, nursing Olivia (who was then about a year old or so), looking so beautiful. She looked up at me and said, “Mom, I want to thank you for encouraging me to breastfeed.
